Nature Is Nuts: The Time a Water Snake Fell Out of a Tree With a Squirrel in Its Mouth”
One Wild Afternoon in Wrightsville, Georgia.
There are peaceful days in nature… and then there are days when nature straight-up reminds you who’s boss.
We were just out by the pond, minding our business. You know, regular stuff, trying to fish, soaking up some quiet. Then we see something weird up in the trees. It wasn’t a bird. It wasn’t a squirrel chasing another squirrel. There was a whipping black tail high up in the tree.
Binoculars came out.
Zoom in.
Double-take.
It was a brown water snake, in the tree. Not by the water. Not slithering around like usual. No, this thing was wrapped around a branch like a jungle python on a mission.
And it had something in its mouth. Something furry.
It was a squirrel.
In the mouth of a snake.
In a tree.
Let that sink in.
We just stood there with our jaws halfway to the dirt. It felt like we were watching National Geographic, but without the dramatic music or the British narrator.
Then came the kicker as the snake started slithering down with the squirrel still dangling from its mouth, it lost its grip and FELL OUT OF THE TREE.
Snake.
Squirrel.
Boom, on the forest floor.
So the next time you head out into the woods thinking it’s all peace and pine needles, remember… there’s a whole Forest Fight Club happening above your head. No refs, no rules, just raw survival. If you know, you know. If you want to carry a piece of that wild energy with you, grab the Forest Fight Club tee. It’s a reminder that out in nature, everyone better watch their backs.
